I wanted to create a portrait of my friend and conductor Ivan Yanakiev.
The concept came from Ray Bradbury’s Dandelion Wine introduction, when Douglas is conducting the waking-up of a small rural town in America in the 60’s in a poetic way.
I felt this would suit Ivan’s complex work perfectly.
This artwork was a part of my Beyond the Portrait exhibition at Vivacom Art Hall.
Prints and original exhibition copy are available for purchase.
