It’s usually a quiet process, focused on the person in front of the camera, while still maintaining his rather complex approach toward the lighting.
We’d discuss the way you feel about yourself and how to approach the photoshoot beforehand. We’d aim for a vision in this signature style in this body of work.
Please allow for around an hour for the photoshoot. Might be a bit more, depending on the specific direction.
The focus will be not a large number of images but a few that truly stand out – usually 3 to 5 per photoshoot, which will then be retouched as a vital part of the process.
A selected portrait will be made in a custom size using top-grade photographic paper of Ivaylo’s choice and finished with a frame – a unique object which will stand the test of time and be a personal neshtosi.
Pure, human process which focuses on the physical presence and a portrait in the real world – no generative AI is used at any point, just like none was used in the creation of any of my other photographs.

The roots of my work lay in the legacy of the masters who pushed the limits of the photographic portrait throughout the past decades.
By stepping on them I’ve developed a personal approach towards creating images which honor the values of classic studio photography created in the current century.
